I have been searching for a place to live in Bergen County, New Jersey, because it is close enough that I can get to Manhattan in a reasonable amount of time, but far enough out that I can have some peace and quiet.
After a lot of looking and evaluating, I wanted to break down the 5 that I thought were the best from the list I made. This doesn’t mean that I chose any of them, I just think that everyone should take a look at these, and choose the best option for themselves.
Hudson Lights, 2030 Hudson Street, Fort Lee, NJ
Hudson Lights offers all of the things you would expect to get in a high end luxury building. Each of the studio to 3-bedroom rental units feature wood floors, oversized windows, custom kitchens with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, and imported Italina tile in the bathrooms. The common areas include a resident lounge with a Large Screen TV and apool table, Outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, an attended lobby. Located less than a mile from the George Washington Bridge, getting into New York is relatively easy.
Twenty50 by Windsor, 2050 Central Road, Fort Lee, NJ
To start with Twenty50 is a pet-friendly community. At Twenty50, youcan rent a 1 or 2 bedroom luxury apartment. Each unit has a washer and dryer, walk-in closets, energy efficient appliances, and outfitted with state-of-the-art technology. The community amenities include a landscaped terrace, a heated outdoor pool, a two-story lobby, a business café with coffee bar, a library with fireplace, resident lounge, BBQs and firepit, and wi-fi in all of the common areas. Access to the George Washignton Bridge is just a stones throw away.
The Modern, 800 Park Avenue, Fort Lee, NJ
Probably, the best package of amenities I have ever heard of. A large green lawn with a very large tv/movie screen, an outdoor children’s playground, a zero entry outdoor swimming pool, basketball and volleyball courts, fitness center, indoor screening room, two large screen tv’s in the loounge area, pool table, indoor childrens playroom, internet cafe, and a karaoke lounge for the teenagers. At The Modern, you can rent a studio, 1-, 2-, or 3-bedroom apartment starting at $2375 per month. The apartments have floor-to-ceiling windows with solar shades, stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, and hardwood floors.
The Point at Fort Lee, 900 Crest Lane, Fort Lee, NJ
I like this one because it reminds me of a traditional complex. It is a gated community with studio, 1 – 3 bedroom apartments. Convenient access to the George Washington Bridge allows you to get the NYC within minutes. The Point is a pet-friendly community with a dog run. Parking is more secure if you utilize the garage parking. All the standard amenities are available like a heated swimming pool, business center, fitness center with yoga and zumba classes, basketball court, children’s play area, outdoor bbq stations, and a clubhouse. What makes these units different than the other new luxury buildings is the fireplace in each unit. I think this is a great selling point, because it gives your home a more comfortable atmosphere.
The Commons at Upper Saddle River, 2 Silver Beech court, Upper Saddle River, NJ
The commons is a little farther away from the GW Bridge, but the available space makes it well worth the travel time. You can walk or jog on the surrounding trails or enjoy your quiet time by the pond. Unlike the newer buildings, the rental units have wall to wall carpeting. The interior of the units feature walk-in closets, washer/dryer, and a finished basement in some units. This reminds me of a complex that you would find down South in Alabama or Georgia.
If you get a chance to tour Bergen County, New Jersey, stop in and get a glimpse of each one of these. I hope you would be as impressed as I was.
